Future Goals
As I look ahead to my future, I plan to continue my education by pursuing nursing school. While my experience in the BSHSM program has given me a strong foundation in healthcare systems, management, and patient services, my internship helped me realize that I want a more direct role in patient care. I am especially drawn to the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and make a hands-on impact on their health and well-being.
My time at Cancer Support Community Indiana played a big role in shaping this decision. Working closely with participants and seeing the emotional and physical challenges they face showed me how important compassionate, patient-centered care is. It made me realize that I want to be more directly involved in supporting individuals during difficult times, which is what led me to pursue nursing.
Moving forward, I plan to apply to nursing programs and continue building the skills I need to be successful in that field. I am committed to continuing my education, gaining clinical experience, and developing both my technical knowledge and interpersonal skills. In the future, I hope to combine my background in health services management with nursing to take on leadership roles in healthcare, where I can contribute to both patient care and organizational improvement.
