Capstone Internship
Programs Intern

I completed my internship at Cancer Support Community Indiana in Indianapolis. This organization provides emotional support, education, and resources to individuals and families affected by cancer. I worked as a Programs Intern, supporting program coordination, outreach, and participant engagement.
Primary Responsibilities and Projects
During my internship, I was involved in a variety of tasks that helped support daily operations and program success. I used Constant Contact to send weekly program reminders and updates, and Salesforce to track attendance and participant data. I also helped design flyers using Canva to promote programs and increase participation.
In addition, I assisted with planning and facilitating programs such as Family and Friends Game Night and Lunch Bunch. I also contributed to outreach efforts by contacting participants and helping re-engage individuals who had unsubscribed from communication lists.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes
One of my main learning objectives was to improve my communication and outreach skills. I was able to meet this goal by regularly creating and sending emails through Constant Contact and interacting with participants.
Another objective was to gain experience with healthcare-related data systems. I met this goal by consistently using Salesforce to input attendance and track engagement.
I also wanted to build confidence in a professional setting. Over time, I became more comfortable taking initiative, contributing ideas, and assisting with program planning.

One Pager
I created a one-pager to promote virtual cancer support programs offered by Cancer Support Community Indiana. The goal was to organize a wide range of support groups, educational sessions, and wellness programs into a clear, visually appealing format that is easy for participants to navigate. This project helped improve my communication and design skills while supporting outreach efforts and increasing awareness of available resources.
